OVERCLOCK Episode 1: Searchlight
The story
It starts at closing time in Nora’s café, with a cricket match on the TV and cold coffee on the table.
Then the news breaks: a coast-guard helicopter’s searchlight has found something huge in the sea off Mumbai.
A kaiju, a giant armoured sea creature, rises out of the water and turns toward anything bright.
Deep, Nora and Otto drive to the coast to see it for themselves, and Deep ends up racing toward it on a jet ski.
Main characters
Deep
An engineer from Pune with no powers, only nerve and a habit of working things out.
Nora
Deep’s best friend. She owns the café he drinks cold coffee in.
Otto
A retired machinist and the café’s last regular, dry and unhurried.
The Glowback
The first kaiju: a hunched, armoured sea creature with teal lights along its back that hunts anything bright.
